Product Description

A traditional holiday favourite that can be enjoyed at any meal, anytime. This selected pork shoulder is specially trimmed then cured using special cures to give it a distinct flavour. It is then cooked and smoked using real hardwood chips, not artificial sprays or dips. There is no MSG added. This product is not fully cooked and must be heated to a minimum internal temperature of 160'F (71'C).

This product is not fully cooked and must be cooked until internal temperature of 160'F (71'C) is reached. Suggested cooking instructions are included on the label: Preheat oven to 350'F (170'C). Remove picnic from plastic wrapper and netting. Place in a large roasting pan and add approx. 1" (25mm) of cold water to bottom of pan. Cook 15 to 20 minutes per pound (30 to 45 minutes per kg), or until meat thermometer reads 160'F (71'C). Our Picnics are fully spiced and smoked therefore do not need any further addition of seasonings.
